The Social Studies team is hosting a series of Curriculum Night webinars for families to learn more about how social studies is taught in MCPS and how its curricula in kindergarten through 11th grade incorporate the history of various ethnic and cultural groups. 

The Watkins Mill cluster will host a Back-to-School Block Party from noon–3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14. It is just one of the events happening throughout September to welcome back students. The event will be held rain or shine at Watkins Mill High School, 10301 Apple Ridge Road in Gaithersburg.

Dr. Genevieve Floyd, director of the Division of Career and Postsecondary Partnerships and Career Advising, has received a Governor’s Citation for her work with the dual-enrollment program.

Three Title I schools in MCPS participated in the district's first Reading & Robes initiative on Tuesday morning, where Maryland state judges read aloud culturally diverse books with themes of justice and fairness to students.
